Character – The Aerodynamics of Leadership

As part of the publicity supporting our recent book The Character Compass, Co-founders Mary and Bill wrote an interesting and novel article that was originally published in CEO World.

A short summary

Just as prior generations were unable to fully comprehend the mysteries of aerodynamics, we have, throughout time, misunderstood the complete characteristics that comprise effective leadership.

After conducting significant research and employing an engaged scholarship approach, a group of scholars have identified a leadership character framework that includes 11 interconnected dimensions of character and behaviour. These elements can be observed, assessed, and developed, unlocking the potential to truly transform individuals and organizations.

Leader character is so much more than personality, competencies, and leadership style, it is the foundational elements that influence decision-making, judgment, and well-being.
